Numerous examples/ very intuitive/ gradual approach. If you did not know this field, don't waste time with other books, this one will give you the way of thinking about the subject and help you gradually learn how to do proofs.

Carter's recent collection is a sensuous flow of imagery, extracted from his Midwestern roots and refined through an obscure Italian verse form. The book extends its first invitation, the magnetic "Improvisation", and once the embrace is welcomed carries the reader into transitional realities of shifting perception. From the curious and sinister "Tankroom" to the palpable eroticism of "Candle", Carter's voice is at once dark and unyielding; a plaintive calling from a shadowed nightscape, reaffirming our own long night of the soul.

It is an excellent and very accessory book.

It's rare that you find such an easily adaptable and practical book with great ideas and examples of the actual processes. My company used to research and compile our own annual review of best practices in leadership development. Now we have more time to consider what practices match our business strategy and culture. Keep it coming!

great book if you have a child that loves reading buy it I will garanteeyou your child will love it. Perents could read it but that is another story. GOOD BUY MY FRIENDS.

This work, which I discovered at the local university design library (thanks to an industrious librarian - thanks go out to her), is a marvelous reference for 34 different applications which are used throughout the graphics design world.

As a business person and, perhaps not professional but certainly more than an amateur, graphics designer, one who is more than familiar with many of the applications discussed, I still found the selection of logos and the author's choice to tie them to SPECIFIC features within the applications presented (such as Photoshop filters), to be invaluable. Indeed, thanks to this work, I have discovered there are some filters in software I currently own that I have never discovered but will now,of a certainty, use.

Perhaps more advanced than an introductory book, for the filters and effects are listed with actual logo art examples of their application but not the various settings to achieve the precise effect presented (which would be an impossible task - we each must play with them to learn their nuances), the work would, I think, be equally invaluable for those trying to decide which of these very expensive software packages to buy.

I wish I had owned it before I spent thousands of dollars on software unsuited to my needs.

Well worth the price..

The illustrations in this book completely capture my daughter while I read the words EVERY time! She absolutely loves the life-like smiles and tears each of the baby faces reveal. With each page and each new expressions shown on the baby faces, her expression also changes and it is obvious that she is internalizing the feelings written and illustrated. It is absolutely a must for all babies. A must for those babies that may show a lack of interest in books. And a definite must for all African American babies. Madeline Carter and Keaf Holliday hit the nail on the head with this one!

The words of this well loved psalm have been simplified that even a 6 month old can appreciate it.The illustrations in this book are so colorful and bright. Even though the depictions are of animals, You can feel yourself drawn in to the 'story'. Beautifuly done.

Lucifer's handbook starts with the thirteen basic arguments for religion. The remainder of the book is then concerned with debunking those arguments in a very intelligent and thoughtful way. The text is well organized, comprehensive, and extremely well thought out. I found the examination of the Christian Bible's contradictions with commenly accepted scientific findings as well as with the bible itself particularly enjoyable and illuminating.

I enjoyed the book and would like to formally ask for permission to down load and copy the cover. I think it is and excellent book to introduce ethic culture in a simple form.
